What?? No Five for Friday???

I don't know about you, but a Friday without Five for Friday just doesn't seem right.  Not that Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching doesn't deserve the break.  She absolutely does!!  I just love documenting my week so that when I look back, I can see all the fun of summer.  (Because summer is going by in a blur!)

So please indulge me as I recap my week....

# 1:  Strawberry picking on Monday with my daughter and favorite aunt was a BLAST!!!  We picked so many strawberries!  I made two batches of strawberry jam and a fresh strawberry pie.  Yummo!!

#2:  I learned a neat little trick for hulling strawberries.  I puts the "straw" in strawberry -- literally.  Take a straw and push it in from the pointed end of the strawberry up through the green part.  Out pops that white center and the stem.  I was skeptical at first but it works and it makes this job so speedy!

#3:  The 4th of July parade yesterday was really nice!  Kara was a side walker with the horse farm where she takes lessons.  My mom and Ryan went with me to cheer her on.

#4:  There were some amazing crafting finds at Michael's this week.  Love their clearance and sale bins!

#5:  I also bought the Braggin' About Behavior Beads Brag Tags from Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera!   I was so excited to find these (heard about them on Monday Made It) that I bought them right away.
At Hobby Lobby (only 1 trip there so far this week, but I'm not making any promises that it will be my only!) I found the ball chain to use for the necklace -- and it was even on sale for 50% off!

So that's my week in review.  Not much done school wise, but that's OK...it will be here soon enough!

Don't forget to enter my Rafflecopter contest to win a $10 Amazon gift card and your choice of one of my new Writer's Notebook Divider Pages packs from my TpT Store.

Have a great weekend!

  3. Thanks for the 411 on the strawberries. Got a trick for cherries too? I wonder if the straw would pop out the pit? I have a ton of fave inspirational quotes. I like them so much I made a set of posters. You should pop over and download them...

  5. I got the brag tags from Miss Nelson too after I saw them in Monday Made It! Aren't they just adorable?!? I think we had pretty similar weeks. I went to Michael's yesterday but they didn't have the ball chain. I did snag a few other items there though. I'll have to go to Hobby Lobby to pick up the chain there later this week.

  8. I did a Five for Friday today too...I'm pretty sure it's the first time I have ever done it on a Friday, too. Oh well...maybe I'll be on-the-ball next week too. Glad to see you had the same thought! :o)

  10. I love strawberries. just bought some from the store. Bet it's more fun to pick though!
As far as favorite quotes- I have many. When I had a classroom website, I had a quote running across the top. It was, "Shoot for the moon because if you miss, you still end up amongst the stars." or something close to that. I also love ones about mistakes. I like to think this one is a me quote, but I'm sure I got it from someone- "Mistakes are good things if you learn from them! Love that one!

  15. My daddy grew strawberries when I was growin' up. I can't eat anythin' with strawberry flavorin'...at all. "Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you." ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
