Bring On September!

YAY!  I love fall!  Pumpkin treats, beautiful colors, cooler weather, football...it's my favorite season!  School starts tomorrow for many of us here in Wisconsin and once the first day of school arrives, it is fall, even if the calendar doesn't say it.

So it's time for the monthly link up with Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for CURRENTLY.  Can't wait to read what everyone has going on!
Listening:  Nature is waking up....or maybe it has been up all night and it's just me that is awake to finally hear it.  Getting up early to read and watch the sun rise is probably what I will miss the most when I go back to school.
Loving:  Yep, as of tomorrow, I will be the mom of two high schoolers.  I'm so excited to have them both back in the same building again....easier for transportation.

Thinking:  I really believe this is going to be a GREAT school year!  Positive Mental Attitude every day!!

Wanting:  Does anyone out there have a membership to Choice Literacy?  I'd love to get some feedback on it.  I'm looking for some great online PD and this website looks amazing...but the membership fee is $99 a year.  Is it worth it???

Needing:  I swear I spend more time trying to remember what I wanted to remember than actually remembering....I need to start writing things down....To do lists...Thing I need from the office....What I want to tell my teammates (right, Jamie?).... I hate getting "older"!

For Myself:
1.  I need to get a small quilt project going.  Once it's going, I can do it!  It's just taking the time to cut everything out that keeps me from starting.  I love to hand applique and it is a great way to relax at night.
2.  Write more -- and not on my blog.  I need to write for myself.  I have some poems and short stories that I wrote this summer from the UW-Milwaukee Writing Project that I want to work on.
I need to find the time for this because it is important.
3.  Breathe -- School has a way of creating this sense of craziness that I sometimes forget that I need to just sit and "be."

So, what do you have "currently" going on?

I'd also love if you would link up to my new Sunday linky party, "A Peek at My Week."
New parties start every Sunday, but you can link up any day!  Click here (or scroll down) to see this week's peeks or to add your own!

Have a great week (and month!!)

  6. I never subscribed to Choice Literacy, but often read the freebies. Writing is on my list this month, too!

  7. Quilting makes me feel calm and connected, but I struggle with hand appliqué. Enjoy your year, it feels like a good one to e too!

  8. I cannot seem to remember ANYTHING lately! I am blaming it on the beginning of the school year madness, but I definitely need to start writing things down too!

  10. Love the quilt project. I am planning a machine applique project on a t-shirt for a little school pride project. I hope to post the completed project later this week.

  12. OK I checked out this "Choice Literacy" that you speak of but I didn't see anything I HAD to have. Is it just PD - have you heard good things about it?

Also I'd *LOVE* to know about that lemonade cake. I'm still thinking about it. Maybe if you can describe it to me, I can live vicariously through you!!

  13. I stink at remembering things. I can't even blame age because I've always been like that! I kept a sheet of loose leaf paper in my lesson plan binder for each set of weeks to write down everything I needed to do. Nothing worse than starting a lesson and then realizing you forgot something!

  14. I was a choice literacy member but didn't use it nearly as much as I thought I would. A few things were good and I could have gotten more out of it if I'd tried. I felt like it was partly geared toward lit coaches. But now they have a separate website just for lit coaches so maybe it is more focused on teachers in the classroom now.
